A Brown Cat Fellow

I never realized that there was such a thing as a solid dark brown cat but then I met one. My daughter does cat fostering and one of her temporary charges was just that! So here is to that sweet kitty.

He has a striped jacket, a handkerchief, and a messenger bag. What you can’t see here is his brown vest: but here it is (below).

Yes, it does have moons and stars on it.

Also, this brown cat is made of cashmere coat fabric- so soft!

I gave her a popping purse to contrast with the aqua.

Her cashmere sweater has a sweet lettuce edge.

Gardening Kitty

She is a kitty who loves the garden. She has her flower dress, her cashmere sweater, and her gardening basket. Her dress is made from a light vintage cotton fabric from my mom’s stash- so probably 70’s or 80’s?

She is a tweedy orange cat.

Bird Watcher Kitty

Finally I have something to show you! The last month has been nuts but this week I have gotten some studio time and here she is- the first kitty. She is a bird watcher.

A green cashmere sweater to match her green eyes.

She has binoculars and a bag where she keeps her bird watching notes.

As I said before, I am working through pattern pieces that I dyed several years ago and there are a lot of skeleton tattoos!

I really like how the fan design on the fabric works with this lady’s body.

I’ve had a tough week all around. A very dear friend has passed away and I am having a hard time wrapping my head around it. And, probably related, nothing is working for me in my studio. Sometimes things in the creative process glide along with no bumps. This last week was all bumps. I’m hoping that next week will go better.
